We have raised more than £46,000 at our fifth annual charity clay shoot, with all proceeds donated to RABI (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) in support of its vital work in the farming industry.
Held on Thursday 14 May at the Shuckburgh Estate, the popular event attracted more than 180 competitors from over 240 guests, all of whom contributed to the outstanding fundraising total.
Funds raised will support RABI’s crucial work which aims to provide financial, emotional and practical support to those that need it within the farming industry across England and Wales. Since the inaugural event in 2022, the annual clay shoot has now raised almost £185,000 for charitable causes.
Richard Foxon, managing director, said: “As a business, we are rooted in the communities and networks that we work within, especially the farming industry. Having the opportunity to support the industry with such a fantastic event is something we are incredibly proud of.
“Over the past five years, the charity clay shoot has developed into a much-anticipated event, and we’re hugely grateful for the continued backing from the land, property and farming communities. Their enthusiasm and generosity have been instrumental in raising a substantial sum for RABI, and the support shown each year continues to make a real difference.”
Organised by Newton LDP and held at the Shuckburgh Estate, the shooting activities were orchestrated by Honesberie Shooting, before guests enjoyed lunch from Warwick-based Flying Pig Catering, followed by a live charity auction and raffle.
The 2026 event also featured a keynote address from Paul Pirie, head of fundraising at RABI, who spoke about the charity’s work and explained how funds raised through the event can help provide practical, financial and emotional support to farming people across England and Wales.
Paul Pirie said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the Newton LDP Annual Charity Shoot such a tremendous success - from the organisers, staff and sponsors to every guest and shooting team who took part. The event has truly become a flagship occasion in the rural calendar, bringing people together in support of farming communities while celebrating the very best of countryside spirit and generosity.
“Events like this make a real difference to the work of RABI, helping us continue to provide practical, financial and emotional support to farming people across the country. On behalf of everyone at RABI, thank you Newton LDP for helping us continue to be there for our farmers when support is needed.”
This year’s event was supported by a number of sponsors, including Lodders Solicitors, Ainscough Strategic Land, GRAF UK, Mulberry Homes, Hallam Land, Darbishire Sporting Agents, Brookbanks, Manor Oak Homes, Stockton House, Gallagher Developments and Richard George Tailoring.
Sytner Land Rover Coventry supported the event by providing a fleet of Land Rover Defenders to transport guests around the estate throughout the day.
