The land was previously used as part of a successful turf business but became surplus to requirements.
When the site was identified as a draft allocation, we sought a promotion partner to continue to promote the site through the local plan. After receiving a number of offers, from both Housebuilders and Land Promoters, we shortlisted a number of competitive proposals and chose Anwyl Land.
The site then secured an allocation for 678 units in Sefton’s Local Plan and Anwyl Land continued to promote the site by undertaking significant technical work. It was also necessary to negotiate an access with the Council through the redundant Park & Ride site to the west, as the allocation specified that the access must come that way, despite there being road frontage on the northern boundary.
Off the back of the technical work, the secured access, and the allocation, the site was sold to Homes England, who continue to promote the site with a view to submitting an application in due course.
